This is not a BAD movie, but it's not super great. Cobra is trying to take the world hostage ... So basically the same story as the cartoon. You know this, that's not why you are going. You want to see your favorite Joe's on the big screen. First of all let me tell you Scarlet raips, she has a bad ass crossbow that locks onto Jimmies eyeballs and that is awesome! Snake eyes forget about it! It doesn't really matter where or what or how or who the fuck cares ... it's snake eyes and he's bad ass. The worst director and writer in the world could get a hold of that character and he would still be cool.
Storm Shadow is also fun to watch and all the Joe VS Cobra stuff is great. The Delta/Sigma suit scene is awesome and had me screaming and laughing at the screen. It's pwnn. With that said I gotta talk about some of the animation in the movie, the CG. WTF?! Was some of it supposed to look like a cartoon. I saw it in DIGITAL projection and I don't know if that was good or bad because I really saw some terrible special effects. Feel free to not rush the movie to polish the scene of the Jimmies sliding down the elevator shaft in animation. Or even the fuckin' car pulling in the driveway?! You couldn't get the camera in real life and just do a fly over, you had to animate it?!
G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra is not a bad movie and I would say go see it. You have to understand at this point you need to see these types of movies with an open mind. There is some Jimmy in Hollywood who thinks he knows better or knows what the majority fan base would like. I think that got it pretty close. It's Hollywood Jimmy! I don't know G.I. Joe well either. This movie is not supposed to be an Oscar movie. Shut up, sit back and enjoy the nonsense story line, explosions, fighting and of course amazing acting.
