This is my review of Cedar Rapids, starring Ed Helms. What do you want?
Cedar Rapids is about a small town Jimmy who goes the the big city to represent is insurance company and this big convention. The movie isn't that funny as it is more of a character study about this small town Jimmy. Ed Helms is the main guy and he is a really good actor. I felt like I was watching a character more than the Jimmy from The Office. Sigourney Weaver is in the movie and she is lookin' older than hell, but I'd still rail here.
John C. Reilly is in it as well and he's funny. Funny to watch and funny to look at. Anne Heche is also in this movie and oh boy would I like to rail her, I didn't even realize who she was at first. Wait isn't that Ellen's wife? Oh sad face ... dike. Isiah Whitlock Jr. from The Wire. You know ... Sheeeeeeeit. Yeah that guy. Anyway he makes to straight up references to The Wire, even actually says The Wire. Twice. But never says Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit. Little bit of a let down there.
In closing, this movie was not the comedy I expected. It actually wasn't that funny at all. This kind of movie might be something I have on the tele, on a Sunday night, when there is absolutely nothing else to watch. All the time playing Tactics Ogre and not really paying attention to the flick.
Flush it!
